The studio will focus on developing new readings of the site, which we will approach through four abstract worlds: the house, the field, the tower and the mount, with the guidance of four experts. We will build imaginaries and mythologies around these, which will then be translated into physical artefacts and iconographies.
The Advanced Landscape Architecture Studio of Prof. Christophe Girot will design a linear public space along the Furtbach. The designed landscape will improve the quality of life for the inhabitants of the Furttal by enhancing connectivity between urban areas and providing access to recreational spaces.
Agricultural practice
Agrarwissenschaftliches Praktikum
Agricultural practice consists of a stay of 7 weeks min. on a farm and of work on two specific topics combining theory and practice. The timing of the different parts during the Bachelor program is open. The stay on a farm can be performed before the beginning of the Bachelor program.
Introduction and development of some basic algebraic structures - groups, rings, fields including Galois theory, representations of finite groups, algebras. The precise content changes with the examiner. Candidates must therefore contact the examiner in person before studying the material.
This course is an Introduction to Algebraic Geometry (algebraic varieties and schemes).
This course is an introduction to Algebraic Geometry (algebraic varieties).
This is an introductory course in Algebraic Topology (CW complexes, fundamental group, homotopy groups, cellular and singular homology, manifolds, duality, de Rham's theorem)
This course provides rigorous theoretical foundations for the design and mathematical analysis of efficient algorithms that can solve fundamental tasks relevant to data science.
Practical course general chemistry I
Allgemeine Chemie I (Praktikum)
Qualitative analysis (determination of cations and anions), acid-base-equilibria (pH- values, titrations, buffer), precipitation equilibria (gravimetry, potentiometry, conductivity), redoxreactions (syntheses, redox-titrations, galvanic elements), metal complexes (syntheses, complexometric titration)analysis of measured values, states of aggregation (vapour pressure, conductivity, calorimetry)
Analysis I: One Variable
Analysis I: eine Variable
Introduction to the differential and integral calculus in one real variable: fundaments of mathematical thinking, numbers, sequences, basic point set topology, continuity, differentiable functions, ordinary differential equations, Riemann integration.
Mathematical tools for the engineer
Analysis II: Several Variables
Analysis II: mehrere Variablen
Introduction to differential and integral calculus in several real variables, vector calculus: differential, partial derivative, implicit functions, inverse function theorem, minima with constraints; Riemann integral, vector fields, differential forms, path integrals, surface integrals, divergence theorem, Stokes' theorem.
Measure and integration theory, including: Caratheodory's theorem, Lebesgue measure, Radon measure, Hausdorff measure, convergence theorems, L^p spaces, Radon-Nikodym theorem, product measure and Fubini's theorem
Aquatic Ecology (Incl. Two Identification Courses)
Aquatische Ökologie (inkl. zwei Bestimmungskursen)
This course combines Limnology (the study of inland waters in its broad sense) with ecological and evolutionary concepts. It deals with rivers, groundwater and lakes. This course contains a lecture part, an experimental part, two determination courses (aquatic invertebrates and algae) as well as excursions.
Architectural Design
Entwurf
This part of the curriculum addresses design work in different areas of architecture and urbanism and integrates the knowledge acquired in previous years. It involves the active participation of specialists from related disciplines (e.g. building structures, landscape architecture, history of art and architecture, monuments conservation etc.).
