Abstract
Agricultural practice consists of a stay of 7 weeks min. on a farm and of work on two specific topics combining theory and practice. The timing of the different parts during the Bachelor program is open. The stay on a farm can be performed before the beginning of the Bachelor program.
Objective
The agricultural practice aims to motivate students, to offer orientation, to encourage an integrated approach and to impart agricultural knowledge. It offers students the possibility to keep in contact with their farm during the Bachelor program.
Content
Agricultural practice consists of different parts: Introduction (see LV Introduction to practice), a stay on a farm including on site data gathering, work on two topics. Each topic planned to take about 2 weeks time. Topic one gives the student the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge on a subject of his/her choice. Subjects are put forward by responsible professors and lecturers. They equally offer scientific guidance and finally review the results. Topic two originates from the farm itself and the subject is brought forward by the student. Scientific guidance is offered by responsible professors and lecturers and organizational assistance by the Department practice services.
