The goal of the course is to give deep insights on the molecular events responsible for the physiology of the cell.

Introduction to basic biochemistry, to the most important metabolic reactions, and to the biochemistry of secundary plant metabolites.

The course deals with structural and functional details of individual cell components and their mode of interaction. Compartmentalization of biochemical processes, signaling and regulation, and detoxification are analyzed in functional and structural terms.
