Discovering Management offers an introduction to the field of business management and entrepreneurship for engineers and natural scientists. By taking this course, students will enhance their understanding of management principles and the tasks that entrepreneurs and managers deal with. The course consists of theory and practice sessions, presented by a set of area specialists at D-MTEC.

This course is offered complementary to the basis course 351-0778-00L, "Discovering Management". The course offers an additional exercise.

The lecture offers an introduction into the organization and the set-up of entreprises. The emphasis is on transferring entrepreneurial knowledge and getting to know, to understand and to assess entrepreneurial decisions and their implementation into real life. Furthermore to recognize possibilities for personal actions.

The Case Study Assignment Ü1 is offered complementary to the lecture "Management: practical and sustainable". The students are confronted with selected management problems which are solved by means of autonomous teamwork. The attendance of the lecture "Management: practical and sustainable" is a prerequisite for the Case Study Assignment Ü1.

The Business Game Ü2 is offered complementary to the lecture "Management: practical and sustainable". The students are given the opportunity to run a virtual company and in doing so learning the basic mechanisms of management. The attendance of the lecture "Management: practical and sustainable" is a prerequisite for the Business Game Ü2.
