Agro-Food Projects
Praxisprojekte Agro-Food
Intensive week in biology
Arbeitswoche in Biologie
Identification and description of the relationship between habitat (abiotic factors) and different biocoenoses.
Practice-oriented introduction to BIM working methods for civil engineers.Advantageous applications compared to 2D/3D, especially for digital construction and parametric modelling.
Biology IV: Entomological spezies
Biologie IV: Praktikum Tierreich
Insight into the major arthropod orders, with special emphasis on the insects. Knowledge of basic methods of microscopy, dissection, sampling, working with simple classification keys.
Biology IV: Animal diversity
Biologie IV: Diversität der Tiere
Animal diversity: Understanding the most important animal groups in their ecological and phylogenetic context; the correlation between animal form and function.
Biology IV: Plant and animal diversity
Biologie IV: Diversität der Pflanzen und Tiere
Plant diversity: Mosses, ferns, gymnospers, and overview of angiosperms with selected families; introduction to morphology, systematics, and ecological significance of these groups.Animal diversity: Understanding the most important animal groups in their ecological and phylogenetic context; the correlation between animal form and function.

Insect Biology and Systematics
Spezielle Entomologie
The lecture gives a detailed overview over the 30 insect orders occurring in Central Europe. The main emphasis is put on biology (nutrition, reproduction ...), on morphological and ethological adaptations and on the diversity of the different insect orders. Other topics included are the morphological characteristics and phylogenetic relationships of the insect orders.
Phylogeny and Systematics
Phylogenie und Systematik
Overview over tasks, concepts and methods of biological systematics (taxonomy, nomenclature, phylogeny and classification)., with special emphasis on modern methods of inferring phylogenetic relationships.Discussion on phylogenetic approaches to better understand origin, evolution and ecological specialisations of selected groups.

Phytomedicine: Entomology
Phytomedizin: Entomologie
Applied Entomology: key insect pests and their antagonists in crops, arthropods in storage and public health systems, insect ecology, and pest control strategies
This course will present methods of scientific machine and deep learning (ML / DL) for applications in design and construction. After providing proper background on ML and the scientific ML (SciML) track, several applications of SciML together with their computational implementation during the design and construction process of the built environment are examined.
Systematic Biology: Zoology

The systematic classification of animals and the characteristics of the most important animal groups, basic animal body plans.
Systematic and Ecological Biology II
Syst. u. ökolog. Biologie II
The pedological excursions are field trips to personally inspect the major soil types in our region. The various soil horizons can be seen and assessed in excavated soil pits. The purpose of this excercise is to recognize the important features of these soils and to understand the ecosystem processes at these sites. This unit complements the teaching materials and contents of the courses taught in
