A survey of the whole curriculum of mathematics at secondary level (from years 7 to 12) is intended to help teachers to determine the relevance of central themes for the students but not (yet) to prepare lessons methodically.

The students familiarize themselves with fundamental tasks of teachers in mathematics at higher secondary level. During "practice lessons" they are expected to put into practice the theories of teaching discussed in the lecture. Furthermore, they have the opportunity of using an internet platform to work on exercises, in order to deepen their level of reflection about the topics of the lecture.

Stochastics should still be considered an important element of the higher secondary mathematics curriculum, even though the duration of that education has actually been shortened . The challenge which teachers now face is to advance quickly to the central notions and concepts of judging statistics, without getting bogged down in the details of elementary combinatorics and probability problems.
