As such, Blockchain Finance seeks to combine open-source, peer to peer building blocks into sophisticated products using blockchain technology, seeking to disintermediate and decentralize the traditional financial service industry. Introducing dynamic models and workhorses in macroeconomics, understanding the role of innovation and institutions for economic development and discussing policies to foster innovation and economic growth.
This intermediate course focuses on the core thinking devices and foundations in macroeconomics and monetary economics, and uses these devices to understand economic growth, business cycles, crises as well as how to conduct monetary and fiscal policies and policies to foster the stability of financial and economic systems.
The course on intermediate macroeconomics focuses on topics in monetary economics, labor economics and the basics in growth theory. Additionally, the students get an overview over the role of the intertemporal budget constraints and over the different schools of thought in macroeconomics.

The Policy Design seminar teaches how to design good rules and policies in a variety of areas: growth policy, rules for democracy, global public goods and climate policy, banking regulation and public debt reduction. The main tools are: game theory, general equilibrium theory, mechanism theory, contract theory, collective decision theory and dynamic macroeconomics.
