This course is part of the MAS-IP Program, which is divided into the following parts: 1) Introduction to law and basic IP issues; 2) Patent law; 3) Copyrights, trademarks, industrial design and competition law; 4) IP in computer sciences and life sciences; 5) Managing, financing and litigating IP.

Introduction to lawThe basics of contract Law (formation of contract and contract performance),tort law (including liability limitation), corporate law and litigation.Constitutional and administrative law (organization and duties of the state, sources of law, fundamental rights, procedure of public authorities).

This class introduces students into basic features of the legal system. Fundamental issues of constitutional law, administrative law, private law and the law of the EU are covered. The focus is on legal problems related to space. Active participation is expected in short interactive sequences.

Die Law and Economics Seminar- und Vorlesungsreihe wird gemeinsam durch die EHT Zürich, die Universität Zurich und die Universität St. Gallen durchgeführt. In jedem Semester halten verschiedene Gastreferenten/Innen eine Law and Economics Vorlesung und/oder präsentieren ihre gegenwärtigen Forschungsarbeiten.

The Workshop and Lectures Series in Law and Economics is a joint seminar of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, the University of Zurich and the University of St-Gallen. Every semester, several guest scholars in law and economics present their work in a lecture and/or discuss their ongoing research in a workshop.
