The course is building up skills and experience in coaching engineering teams. To gain experience and to reflect real coaching situations, the participants of the course have the role of team coaches of the innovation project (151-0300-00L) lecture.
The course “Coaching Students” enhances Student Teaching Assistants and other participants in their roles as coaches, acquiring basic knowledge about coaching methodology and the mindset of a coach. The course focuses on participants who are coaching teams or individuals, where nondirective support plays an important role.
Focus Project II

Students will develop and build a product from A-Z! They will be working in teams, and independent, where they learn how to structure problems and identify solutions to them, system analysis and simulation, as well as presentation and documentation techniques. They will build the product, with access to a Machine shop, and state of the art engineering tools (Matlab, Simulink, CAD, CAE, PDM).

The lecture elaborates on the innovation process, its sub processes and methodological procedures: moderation technique, scenario technique, innovation strategy, quality function deployment QFD, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis FMEA, conjoint analysis, product plattforms, creativitymethods, evaluation and decision methods.
