This studio works on the idea that a substantial understanding oftoday's technology (internet of things, big data, machineintelligence ...) changes the perspective to architectural theoryand will result in different architectural designs and buildingconstructions.

"Freihaus" is a quiet place in the center of the city - Moscow, Buenos Aires, Zurich."Freihaus" likes your intellect. You are safe in the "Freihaus" if you argue and do not shout. *Freihaus" knows everything.Nothing leaves the "Freihaus", no text, no image, no thing, no money, no sound ... no nothing - but you!

CAAD Computer Aided Architectural Design
CAAD Entwurf
Forms of model generation as part of the design process. Students learn to integrate different CAAD principles into various phases of design. Parametric methods, knowledge-based generators, visual and quantitative simulations are used. The computer is thereby not only understood as tool but also as medium, which enables new forms of co-operation.

Apart from an introduction to multimedia techniques, complex digital tools in architectural design are explored. In the courses, the media ‘film’, ‘picture’, ‘text’, ‘internet’, ‘design’, ‘model’ and ‘animation’ are discussed and practiced. As emphasis, computer aided design- and production methods are given and prototypically learned in the form of exercises.
In the first two semesters, the courses are composed of lectures and exercises as an introduction to Multimedia techniques. By Multimedia we understand both: the traditional, haptic media and the computeraided media. In the courses, the medium film, picture, text, Internet, drawing, model and animation are discussed and practiced.
