This course gives an insight into current research in the areas of psychology, behavioral biology, psychophysiology and neuroscience.

Training in discipline-specific didactics is structured to individual qualification goals. It consists largely of personally-determined work. The work involved corresponds to a six semester week-hours, they may be distributed among more than one semester.

Training in discipline-specific didactics is structured to individual qualification goals. It consists largely of personally-determined work. The work involved corresponds to a six semester week-hours, they may be distributed among more than one semester.

You will design a teaching unit using a specific method such as „project method“ or „discovery learning“ on a subject you choose. The selected method is taken from the course „Educational psychology and Instructional Design I". You will be supported by an in-service teacher.This is a joint course of the professors for education and subject matter and in-service teachers.

At the end of this course you will be familiar with ten important methods and 30 techniques for optimal learning and teaching. The textbook „Allgemeine Didaktik“ contains all teaching material. During each lecture we shall set a voluntary task in the form of an essay. They will be marked and form the basis of your credit points.

The curriculum comprises about 20 issues conerning college, university and general adult education, including e.g. correlation betwen intelligence and academic achievement; long-term effects of school learning; biological conditions of learning; and the relation between academic and professional achievement.
