Independent thesis on a monographic or thematic topic within the scope of the History of Art and Architecture.

In Spring 2020, Don18 will look back at the digital aesthetics and artistic collaborations from the 1990s, and trace its influences in today's digital world. On the example of artistic and architectural works Don18 will examine how the contemporary flood of pictures and information has affected the approach towards political, social, economic, and bodily needs.

Das Seminar untersucht die Relevanz der Seminarreise als Format im Architekturstudium und forscht gleichzeitig nach möglichen Alternativen aus der Perspektive von post-anthropozentrischen und postkolonialen Diskursen.

Have you ever resisted the urge to travel and tried to imagine your travel? That’s the experimental set up for the seminar. The idea is to split the participants of the seminar into two groups: travellers and non-travellers. In pairs (tandem partnerships), they will be interconnected through various media. The final outcome will be a video essay, which combines their findings.

The seminar will reflect on and experiment with different forms of interviews. The interviews will take place in the context and on topics of the "X - cene Matinee" in the wind tunnel of the ZHdK. This series of events will deal with the current discourse on the Anthropocene, Pyrocene, Capitalocene, Plantationocene and Chthulocene in artist's talks.
