Grundkurs Abdomen
The "Basic Course Abdomen" is the sequel of the "Ultrasound Basics" in fall semester. It covers the ultrasound anatomy of the abdomen and a systematic examination of the organs. Successful completion of both parts leads to the SGUM Basic Course Abdomen Certificate.
The school (1.9. - 12.9.2008) will discuss the recent progress and challenges in biological and medical imaging. Cutting edge techniques using a wide range of imaging mechanisms will be put in the context of selected biomedical problems. In particular, multimodal and multiscale imaging methods as well as supporting technologies such as computer aided image analysis and modeling will be discussed.

Within the Bachelor’s in Human Medicine, the Translational Research Internship (min. 6 weeks) is the final step before transferring into the master at a partner university. It is intended to give insight into the transfer “from bench to bedside”, i.e. the translation of research findings to the clinical application, and to prepare for the master thesis.
