This course is a sequel to the one-year basic course. The grammatical knowledge is supplemented and deepened (Level A2-B1). The emphasis of the course lies on the work on texts and the widening of the vocabulary. The course attempts an introduction to various texts of a spectrum as broad as possible. Relevant cultural questions and their historical dimensions will also be discussed.

This course deepens and extends the knowledge of Russian basic grammar (Level B1-B2). Particular attention is given to the work on texts and on vocabulary, but other media (film, music) will also be used. The focus lies on developing the reading comprehension of different types of texts as well as on the deepened view of important cultural questions.
The knowledge of the structures of the Russian language is deepened (Level B2-C1). Texts and media from various cultural fields are dealt with. The students practise their listening and speaking skills. However, greatest significance is attached to the development of their reading comprehension skills in fields that cover both various current and historical cultural contexts.
