This course provides a foundation in analog integrated circuit design based on bipolar and CMOS technologies.
Electronics for communications systems, with emphasis on realization. Low noise amplifiers, modulators and demodulators, transmit amplifiers and oscillators are discussed in the context of wireless communications. Wireless receiver, transmitter and frequency synthesizer will be described. Importance of and trade offs among sensitivity, linearity and selectivity are discussed extensively.

Introductory lecture on electronic circuits. Transistor fundamentals, analysis and design of transistor based electronic circuits such as amplifiers and filters; operational amplifiers and circuits based thereon.
Lab with principal electronic circuit experiments on the transistor and operational amplifier basis.
Laboratory Practice
Labor-Praktika
Selected laboratory experiments in physics, mechanical and process engineering. With the Laboratory Training held during the fifth semester, the students learn how to handle and apply measurement methods and devices. Students are offered a diversified choice of laboratory experiments at least eleven of which must be completed. Five of the chosen experiments must be in physics.
