Students will focus on ways to reach out to a wider public the complexity of science. Sub-topics like the role of socially engaged art, political ecologies, and decolonial food systems will be explored in the lecture. Students will be encouraged to develop critical thinking on the connections between water, sanitation, food security and ways to sustainably improve food systems resilience.
Agroecology is a discipline, an agricultural practice, and a political-social movement. Students will attend public lectures by experts from different fields and will reflect on agroecology and its principles. Moreover, students will expand their knowledge with case studies and discuss about the role of agroecology to support sustainable agriculture and food systems.
This course introduces participants to new perspectives and tools for leading change. It incorporates established models and frameworks to build a human-centric understanding of how change happens, both at an individual and organizational level. Participants learn how to engage others in change processes and begin crafting their own approach to leadership.
This 2 week residential summer school gives university students and young professionals the chance to understand the challenges and opportunities of the world food system and explore their role in creating change. Participants actively engage in lectures, workshops, group work, case studies, field trips and farm work. The course is hosted in Rheinau, Switzerland.
