This course gives an insight into current research in the areas of psychology, behavioral biology, psychophysiology and neuroscience.

This course gives a scientific understanding of the functional relations between physiological and psychological processes and human behaviour. The psychophysiological processes involved in the vital basic needs, like hunger, thirst, activation and sleep, as well as the origin and treatment of pain, are explained.

Scientific insights into group dynamics are taught with direct relevance to leadership practice. Students learn through interactive experiments and case studies how social psychological principles influence team effectiveness.

Following on from the course providing fundamental knowledge of the potential factors which trigger stress (stressors), theoretical models will be presented from psychology, biology and medicine on the origin of emotions, especially stress, and psychobiological reactions to psychosocial stress.
