Electromagnetic Fields and Waves

Elektromagnetische Felder und Wellen

227-0052-10L 2020S , 2021S , 2022S , 2023S , 2024S , 2025S , 2026S 4 Credits BSC D-ITET , D-MATH

This course is focused on the generation and propagation of electromagnetic fields. Based on Maxwell's equations we will derive the wave equation and its solutions. Specifically, we will discuss fields and waves in free space, refraction and reflection at plane interfaces, dipole radiation and angular spectrum representation.
