Conjunctures, breakings and continuities out of the Swiss Federal Institute's history since 1855 should be presented in their political, economic and scientific contexts.

The course offers a basic understanding of the political dimensions of technical interventions into society. Students will be introduced into the concepts and the history of technocracy and will become familiar with governmentality-studies.
