Can peace, in our present time, only be imagined as something that is over or yet to come? Are art or architecture peaceful as such? Does something like violent art or architecture exist?

Gravity and Grace is a collection of notes by the French philosopher Simone Weil, published posthumously om 1952. The collection will serve as the starting point for reflections on various issues that relate to architecture and its role in society.
This class examines how architecture acts through its disciplinary toolbox and bodies of knowledge in spatial predicaments such as war and dispossession; population exchange and nation-building; territorial expansionalism and nationalized pasts.
