Objective

The understanding of electromagnetic energy converters and electronic control devices, their operational behaviour and employment rules within the scope of drive- and computer applications, mechatronics and the electrical power supply conditions.

Content

Basic laws of electromagnetic energy converters, utilization- cooling- and heating problems. The electrical machine as adjustable or contollable drive. Electronic actuators for direct-current motors, three-phase motors, revolving field motors, electronic motors, step motors, brushless dc-machines and switched reluctance motors as well as specially designed electromagnetic energy converters.
Within the scope of the basic automation structure, sensoric-data processing-actuators, powerful electromechanical energy converters play an essential role that is steadily increasing. In addition, 60% of electrical energy only is utilized in electrical drive systems. Lectures 'Electrical Drive Systems' I, II and III cover all essential aspects of modern drive systems in energy technology, in industry and computer technology whereby every part is independent from each other.
