Abstract

We review the latest advances in the theory of Bose-Einstein condensation. The general theory of this phase transition is applied to a range of systems such as ultracold atomic gases, lasers, solid-state microstructures. The link with macroscopic coherence phenomena and superfluidity is illustrated on recent experiments and novel features that appear in a non-equilibrium context are discussed.
