Abstract

Basics and challenges of data processing and data interpretation are taught based on measurements of muscle activity and other typical data monitored during studies in human movement science.

Objective

Independent work in MatLab related to read in, plot, and further data processing of measurement data gained during studies in human movement science.

Content

Drawbacks of Excel; Possibilities in Matlab; Theory of Electro-Myography; Recordings of muscle activity; Import of several data formats; Plot of one and more signals; Removing of an offset and filtering of data based on self-written functions; Normalisation and parametrisation of data of muscle activity; Parametric and non-parametric tests; Reliability; Kinematic analysis based on image processing toolbox; Interpolation; Differentation and Integration in MatLab.
