Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:24:19
Abstract
On the one hand, the topic of the infinite will be dealt with historically by discussing philosophical texts, by e.g., Kant, Bolzano and Cantor. On the other hand, the topic will be treated from a (non-historical) scientific point of view: the point of view of logic, mathematics, and possibly also physics.
Objective
To get acquainted with different types of infinitness; to study what is intriguing or problematic about the infinite; to inquire whether these different types of infinitness have (important) features in common.
