Content
Developing an urban planning concept for Schlieren East (i.e. Gaswerkareal) is the current task of the cities Zurich and Schlieren; this is our starting point as well as topic for the next semester. In small groups the students will define an urban planning programme for the whole area. In the following a location within the project perimeter will be chosen individually, to be dealt with in landscape architectonical terms. The perspective as well as the needs of the city walker, are important parameters for the design process, which calls for an intensive dealing with the site. For that reason the students will work on site: Studio Schlieren is the perfect base for spatial and sociological investigations.
