Abstract

The use of concepts, methods and techniques in computer-based design, in communication and in the visualization of information.

Objective

The students will obtain an introduction to a design process for architects, possibly of the next generation, and to theoretical concepts of information management. The lectures are highly interactive and discuss visionary case studies and new techniques. Apart from learning about and experiencing Information Architecture, the course also introduces research and management skills that will distinguish the future trained ETH architect.

Content

The elective course 'Information Architecture' provides a theoretical and practical introduction to the new area of Information Architecture. Inspired by numerous built and virtual examples, it discusses the consequences when information space and physical architecture are merged.
