This course of study focuses on conceptually supported considerations for the maintenance of buildings and existing infrastructures. The contents in detail are as follows: • Basic principles of sustainability • Life cycle analyses • Basic principles of real estate business • Process simulation • Risk considerations • Complex assessment procedures • Methods of building management • Definition and implementation of long-term strategies The different aspects will be brought together in trans-disciplinary case studies. The understanding of scientific principles is based on research and methods of various subjects, ranging from humanities and engineering to natural sciences.
