Abstract
This course will be based on the course Satellitenfernerkundung given in the 5th semester. It will treat mainly processing of radar data with exercises and present additional information on high spatial resolution, thermal and meteorological satellite sensors.
Objective
The main aim is to introduce the basic methods of radar data processing presenting the respective theory and supporting it with exercises using the software SarScape. The secondary aim is to provide information on high spatial resolution, thermal and meteorological satellite sensors.
Content
The lecture will cover following topics: - SAR System and Parameters, Acquisition Modes, Image Formation - Introduction to ArcView and SarScape - Speckle, Data Statistics, SAR Geometry / Radiometry - SAR Interferometry, Differential SAR Interferometry, Persistent Scatterers - SAR Polarimetry, Polarimetric SAR Interferometry - Processing of high spatial resolution optical images - Thermal Sensors - Meteorological satellites Exercises will cover: - Focusing, Speckle, SAR Geometry / Radiometry - Generation of Digital Elevation Models - Segmentation and Classification
