Abstract

The objective of this lecture is to introduce the basic concepts of image formation, and explain the methods commonly used in Computer Vision applications. To fully understand the presented computer vision methods the necessary signal processing background will be taught.

This lecture aims to give an overview of the basic concepts of image formation, digital image processing and computer vision.

The course proceeds along the following topics: -Image formation -Signal processing -Image enhancement/filtering -Image restoration -Image compression -Image segmentation -Feature detection -Texture
