Abstract

Processes and stations in the path from research and discovery of new chemical entities until the launch of a new drug. This 'roadmap' is useful to position the details given in other lectures on specific activities in drug development.The second part provides insight in the decision process applied in determining whether a drug candidate should progress to further developmental stages or not.

Objective

To provide a roadmap of all processes necessary in the development of a new drug until it can be marketed. To position the other, detailed information and lectures into the road map of drug development. To understand the milestone concept and decision processes controlling advancement in developing new drugs
