Abstract

The students will, individually or in small groups, investigate a research question from the field of research on learning and instruction. This involves finding a research question, deriving an empirical design, developing the necessary materials, collecting and analyzing data, and, finally, writing a report.

Objective

The aim consists in applying the theoretical knowledge acquired in learning and instruction in an empirical project and to combine it with own creative ideas.

Content

The students should choose a topic related to their teaching competencies and their specific field of teaching. The topic can involve the development and testing of learning materials, computer learning programs, or learning environments as well as a critical reflection on them. The topic chosen may also focus on conducting an empirical, scientific evaluation of existing materials or teaching concepts.
