Content

This course presents modern topics in geochemistry with a focus on new tools in isotope geochemistry of heavy stable isotopes such as Fe, Ca, Mo, Si isotopes, radiogenic isotope tracers and U-series nuclides. As well as providing basic training in using these new tools, a special emphasis is put on dealing with geochemical problems through modeling. This course will include applications with numerical treatment of problem sets and introduction to methods used in geochemical modeling. The students are then expected to be able to deal with mass balance equations, box models, transport (e.g. diffusion) and thermodynamic models.
