Abstract
Modern agriculture is characterized by an increasing complexity, with agricultural producers being confronted with many challenges and sources of uncertainty. The course ‘Risk Analysis’ aims at establishing a more comprehensive understanding of risk and risk sources as well as teaching student in risk appraisal and risk management.
Objective
to develop a better understanding of decision making under uncertainty; to brief in methods for the analysis of risky decisions.
Content
Risk and risk measurement; Expected utility theory; Risk preferences; Mean-variance approach; Stochastic dominance criterion; Portfolio optimization (risk efficient frontier); State-contingent approach; Utility-efficient modeling.
