Abstract
Significance and challenges of land use and spatial development. Living space as an interaction of ecostructure, infrastructure, land use systems, and exogene disturbances. Principles of cooperative action related to spatial problems. Instruments to control spatial (spatial planning, environmental impact assessment) and environmental development (environmental management systems).
Objective
- understand the relevance of use and design of our living space for the solution of environmental and social problems. - assess models of land use and their significance since the middle age. - consider our living space as an interaction of ecostructure, infrastructure, land use systems, and exogene disturbances. - understand the principles of cooperative action related to spatial problems. - understand the mission, organisation, legislation and methodology of spatial and environmental planning. - create the prerequisites to contribute with environmental knowledge to the formal procedures of spatial and environmental planning.
