Abstract
The focus is on capacity building to judge strategies and tactiques in pest management considering requirements from economy, ecology and society. Important agricultural approaches will be explained and trained in an exemplary way including prevention using natural resources, insect surveillance and forecasting, anti-resistance strategy, as well as product registration incl. ecotoxicology.
Objective
The students will gain a good understanding of fundamental aspects of pest management in agroecosystems. They will have the capability to judge options for action in view of requirements from ecology, economy and society. Further, they will be able to carry out searches on relevant questions of pest management and to critically evaluate case studies.
