Abstract
The students will receive the basic knowledge of the history of pharmacy. This knowledge will allow them to have a detailled approach to the actual pharmacy and the development of the materia medica.

The students will receive the basic knowledge of the history of pharmacy. This knowledge will allow them to have a detailled approach to the actual pharmacy and the development of the materia medica.
Content
In the first part of the lecture we will talk about the position of the pharmacist in the past and in society. We go through the milestones of the social and legal development of pharmacy. The second part will deal with the history of pharmacology with development of therapeuctical theories and the evolution of the used remedies. It also includes their sometimes mystical and symbolical dimension.
