Abstract
This lecture gives an overview of the requirements and the architecture of parallel computer systems.
Objective
Understand the function, the design and the performance modeling of parallel computer systems.
Content
Short repetition of computer architecture in general (structure, pipeline processing, caches). Requirements of parallel computer systems. Architecture, programming models, performance modelling and communication in parallel computer systems. Selected architectures and sample applications.
