Abstract
The detailed description of the radio link from the output of the transmitter to the input of the receiver is the main topic of this lecture. Also treated are some basic receiver concepts.

Content
Description of wireless radio channels for narrowband and broadband systems, modelling; propagation of electromagnetic waves (reflection, refraction, scattering, absorption); mobile radio channels as linear deterministic/stochastic systems; WSSUS property; fading models; diversity and combining; interference; cellular mobile radio systems; receiver design; antenna structures, characteristics, feeding; impedance matching; design of radio links; electromagnetic compatibility of wireless systems with the environment, radioregulations; modern trends in wireless communications.
