Abstract
Description of morphological features suitable for identification of woody plants in the absence of leaves. Diagnostic value of selected features. Degree of variability of features.Description of about 50 shrubby and arborescent species. Methods and tools used in the field and/or the laboratory.
Objective
To acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the morphological features of woody plant species commonly occurring north of the Alps. To acquire the ability to identify the principal woody species of the indigenous forest flora. To assess the degree of certainty of an identification.
