Working Group Geometric Flows
Arbeitsgemeinschaft Geometric Flows
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:14:57
Abstract
Seminar for PhD students
Objective
The goal of this working group is to gain a broad knowledge and a good overview on the most important geometric flows. In every talk the speaker will introduce a new flow, present the most important results for this flow and discuss open problems. Also mutualities and differences between the different flows will play an important role in this seminar.
Content
Some of the following geometric flows will be discussed: Ricci Flow and Kaehler-Ricci Flow, Mean Curvature Flow, Curve Shortening Flow and Inverse Mean Curvature Flow, Harmonic Map Flow and Biharmonic Map Flow, Yamabe Flow, Clabi Flow, Q-Curvature Flow, Prescribed Scalar Curvature Flow, Willmore Flow, Renormalization Group Flow and combinations thereof or other related flows. Speakers may choose a topic in the first week of the semester. Organisation: Reto Mueller (Contact: mreto /at/ math.ethz.ch)
