Building Process III

Abstract

The course involves an indepth review of the Building Process and in particular the aspects of knowledge, communication, convention, material and production. This review is conducted with the aim to note, interpret and acquire an opinion in relation to the state of the building process. Independent conclusions and outlook in the mid term future are an important part of the curriculum.

Content

The master course builds upon the lecture series building process I and II. Previously the building process was described and viewed as a sequence of criteria in time whereas the master course building process III links the individual criteria’s and forms paramount relationships. The process itself is reviewed concerning the aspects of knowledge, communication, convention, material and production. Tendencies and terminologies are complemented through theoretical models and case studies. This review is conducted with the aim to note, interpret and acquire an opinion relating to the state of the building process. Independent conclusions and the mid term outlook are part of the curriculum and form the basis of individual studies. The course is presented as a colloquium to allow the students the opportunity of individual input. An active collaboration of the students is therefore prerequisite.
