Abstract

The course is aimed for students having passed level B2.1 last semester or for those who know and correctly use all indicative tenses, as well as the subjunctive in its present, perfect and imperfect forms. On the other hand, students should be able to make themselves fluently understood in every day conversations and read mid-difficult texts.

Objective

The course aims towards integrating grammar and oral/written communication. Texts to be read (at home) will be grammatically and thematically studied. Discussion and debate will be encouraged and, time allowing, we will do some D.E.L.E. exam exercises (Intermediate level). Please note that this is not a preparatory course for that exam.

Content

Grammar contents will consist on subordinate sentences and verbal concordance (subjunctive and indicative). We will practice ser/estar and some prepositions, as well as the passive voice. We will consider the topics of Mexican popular art, Spanish museums, Latin American family life and gastronomy.

Resources

Literature

We will use material created and/or adapted by the teacher. Part of this material consists on grammar exercises. We will also read some texts coming from contemporary Hispanic literature. A small fee will be collected.
