Architecture and Digital Fabrication: The Sequential Wall
Architektur und Digitale Fabrikation: Die sequentielle Wand
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:30:04
Objective
Students will gain competence in dealing with the design and production aspects of digital fabrication. The analysis of the inherent logic of digital fabrication and production should be incorporated in the architectural design. Furthermore, the students will take an active part in our ongoing research.
Content
Advance in technology revolutionizes design and fabrication processes within architecture. Digital fabrication allows immediate production from design data. The architect as author of these data takes a key role in this development. This course focuses on strategies for architectural production by means of procedural design tools and computer controlled fabrication methods. A robot for flexible fabrication enables us to discuss above all physical products.
