Abstract

The fundamentals of noise protection and room acoustics.Daylighting.The fundamentals of fire protection.

Objective

The fundamentals of the relevant factors for urban planning are introduced. These include: the fundamentals of sound and sound distribution; the propagation of noise in the built environment, and noise protection as well as room acoustics. Daylighting and its factors and optimization are also presented. The fundamentals of fire protection, and the conditions favorable to the start of a fire and its developement in time and spread in the building are discussed. The flammable behavior of different materials ist presented.
