Abstract

During this seminar we shall analyze outstanding articles published in journals on learning and instruction, thereby analyzing the implications of their results on the structure and arrangement of school teaching. The discussion shall additionally focus on methodological aspects in research.

Objective

The three main goals are: 1. to analyze central recent findings and developments in the field of research on learning and instruction; 2. to learn to understand, evaluate, and practically apply new publications of research on learning and instruction independently; 3. to gain an understanding of the research methodology used in research on learning and instruction in general.

Content

The studies discussed in the seminar investigate learning and teaching processes in the domains of mathematics and sciences as well as domain general underlying cognitive processes and learning strategies.
