Objective
Continuation of the developments of the first course THEORETICAL GLACIOLOGY I. This implies the application of thermodynamic principles and the solution of typical boundary value problems for glacier, ice sheets, ice shelves and floating sea ice.
Content
The subjects covered will be presentation of (1) the maternal theory of ice in glaciers and ice sheets, (2) the theory of polythermal ice in glaciers and ice sheets, (3) theory of ice shelves and (4) the theory of floating sea ice or alternatively damage mechanics of ice and, if time permits, (5) the dynamics of snow and ice avalanches

The students will recieve all necessary documentations for the course. These are handwritten texts by the teacher, typed manuscripts of book chapters and power point presentations of the teacher.
