Abstract

Protection forests form a substantial part of the forested Swiss area. In the field of the management of protection forests, we deal with the question, which forest structures are convenient to ensure the forest functions (i.e. protection against avalanches, rockfall, landslide or mountain torrents). A linked question also addressed is, how these forest structures can be obtained most efficiently.
