Abstract
Epigenetics studies mitotic and/or meiotic heritable traits that cannot be attributed to changes of the DNA sequence. During the course epigenetic changes of plant development will be analyzed using molecular-genetic techniques.
Objective
The aim of the course is to gain an understanding of epigenetic mechanisms during plant development.
Content
-genetics and epigenetics of Arabidopsis thaliana -introduction into molecular techniques -work on a defined epigenetic question with molecular techniques -analysis of publications addressing epigenetic questions
