Abstract
Scientific visualization is the application of computer graphicsto the visual analysis and interactive exploration of scientific data which havetypically spatial or spatio-temporal domain.Such datasets arise in engineering, natural and medical sciences, and are generatedby simulation, measurement or imaging techniques.
Content
Visualization of scalar fields: Contouring and isosurfaces. Direct volume rendering: Raycasting, projection and splatting methods. Vector and tensor fields: Streamlines, streamsurfaces, feature extraction, feature tracking, vector field topology. Concepts from information visualization and data mining. GPU-based methods.
