Abstract
In this course students will be acquainted with the possibilities and limits for the examination and treatment of neurological diseases and their pathogenetic mechanisms.

Anhand von Patienten-Demonstrationen in der Klinik Valens werden die Prinzipien der Klinischen Neurologischen Untersuchungstechnik und die Wertung von technischen Untersuchungsbefunden (MRI, EEG, evozierte Potentiale, Elektroneurographie und - myographie, Liquor) dargelegt. Die einzelnen "grossen" neurologischen Krankheitsbilder (Schlaganfall, Epilepsie, Multiple Sklerose, Hirntrauma, Demenzen, periphere Polyneuropathien etc) werden besprochen, wobei v.a. Wert gelegt wird auf das Verständnis der Krankheitsmechanismen, der sinnvollen Diagnostik und der rationalen Therapiemöglichkeiten.
